Position Overview:

 

The System Administrator (Cloud) is crucial in managing and optimizing organisation’s cloud infrastructure, ensuring the reliability and security of cloud-based systems. The System Administrator (Cloud) supports digital transformation efforts by maintaining a seamless, scalable, and cost-effective cloud environment aligned with cloud-first technology and business-enabling ICT solutions.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Provision, configure, and maintain cloud resources primarily on Microsoft 365 suite of applications, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID, Azure, Defender and Endpoint Management, to ensure all services are running according to SLA.
  • Implement and optimise virtual machines, storage, and networking components, and continuously monitor system performance and optimise cloud resources, to ensure optimal and cost-efficient cloud operations.
  • Implement and maintain security best practices and compliance standards within the cloud environment, and manage user access controls and permissions, to ensure data security.
  • Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities, and troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, to maintain system integrity and functionality.
  • Lead a team to handle IT requests, incidents, problems, and changes by providing technical expertise to support IT infrastructure and endpoint devices in accordance with IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, to ensure all cases are acted upon according to SLA.
  • Set up and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies for critical data and applications in the cloud, and test and execute recovery plans, to ensure business continuity.
  • Create and maintain documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, and procedures, and generate reports on resource utilisation, costs, and performance metrics, to provide clear operational guidelines and insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network team, cybersecurity team, developers, and external parties, to ensure smooth operations, provide technical support, and resolve infrastructure incidents and issues whilst managing stakeholder expectations.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 7 years of technical experience in maintaining & supporting IT infrastructure services. Experience in managing infrastructure and/or cloud services is essential.
  • Experience in the oil & gas or energy sector is preferable.
  • Strong domain knowledge in cloud technologies, with a solid foundation on Microsoft Azure fundamentals being an added advantage.
  • Microsoft Certified Professional or relevant certification is preferable.
