Position Overview:

Provide petroleum engineering expertise and technical leadership to PETROS, guiding field development planning, managing Non-Operated Ventures (NOV) and optimizing reservoir performance to maximize asset value and achieve production targets.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary petroleum engineering authority, ensuring the technical quality of all PE deliverables from NOV operators. This includes rigorous calibration of well models for new drills, production enhancement and surveillance activities.
  • Lead and deliver robust Area Development Plans (ADP) and Field Development Plans (FDP). Evaluate development concepts and resource potential to identify the optimal path for maximizing asset value.
  • Conduct dynamic modelling studies to evaluate reservoir characteristics for exploration, appraisal, and development opportunities, providing data-driven insights for investment decisions.
  • Hold responsibility for the annual PETRONAS ARPR reserves submission and the production forecasts for the Work Program & Budget (WP&B), ensuring accuracy and integrity in reporting.
  • Represent PETROS' interests in key technical reviews, including Project Independent Reviews (PIRs), PETRONAS milestone reviews (AMIR, MR 1-4), Abandonment Reviews (AR) and Integrated Well & Reservoir Reviews (IW/RR).
  • Support achieving production and recovery targets from mature fields through rigorous reservoir and well surveillance, analysis and intervention planning.
  • Mentor and coach junior staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, as well as to champion the adoption of new ideas and digital innovations within the petroleum engineering discipline.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of demonstrated Reservoir Engineering experience, with direct input into the Field Development Planning process and asset technical assurance within a PSC/JV environment.
  • Experience in subsurface operations including surface modelling, carbonate experience, and onshore experience would be an advantage.
  • Prior experience in exploration, producing assets, implementing WRFM plans, operational drilling support, well and reservoir integrity and well lifecycle management a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills & networking skills are essential.
