Senior Project Controls Engineer

Position Objective

To provide critical business support in the areas of capital cost estimation, scheduling as well as reporting for PETROS.  As the Senior Project Controls Engineer, you will provide/resource necessary inputs to support business planning and feasibility studies, and drive cost and schedule performance across portfolio of projects during implementation.

 

Role and Responsibilities

  • Involve in all aspects of Project Controls, including cost estimating and cost control, planning and scheduling, performance measurement and reporting
  • Drive the implementation of fit-for-purpose cost estimation (including cost database) and scheduling tools for PETROS
  • Develop cost basis and estimates for Company’s opportunity funnel which may including mature asset JV’s (onshore and offshore), green and brownfield projects 
  • Tracking of VOWD/commitments and latest estimates, and to provide timely reporting to management
  • Monitoring of contract spends as part of post-award contracts management
  • Support Company business planning. Ensures expenditures are in accordance with budget provision and follows set Company guidelines and procedures
  • Prepare and maintain project integrated schedules, identifying critical path and necessary resources to achieve success
  • Track project delivery versus plan. Highlight any schedule risks and propose corrective actions to avoid delays
  • Work closely with JV partners and external service providers to ensure alignment of project plans. Track actual delivery performance against set targets
  • Cost & schedule performance reporting, both internal and external including regulatory reporting
  • Instill culture of cost leadership in PETROS; cost control and change management, cost risk management. Faciliate implementation of Lean

 

 

Core Skills and Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 5 years experience in a cost engineering and planning role, preferably from an oil & gas operator background
  • Skills in project planning tool (Primavera, MS Projects) and/or cost estimating systems
  • Highly resourceful and able to work in a collaborative team environment
  • Experience in oil & gas project life-cycle activities including engineering, procurement, contracts, construction and start-up processes would be an advantage
  • Experience in SAP and advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel would be an advantage
