Overview:

 

The Senior Compliance & Ethics Analyst will report to the Head of Compliance & Ethics and performs project management and support activities to contribute to the development, implementation and promotion of overall compliance, fraud and corruption prevention strategies and education initiatives, and to administer associated programs including conducting internal investigations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Ensure the organization complies with all relevant local, national and international laws (if any) & regulations including anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues.
  • Oversee and implement the corporate compliance programme, and relevant behaviour related to codes and policies including, but not limited to the Conflict of Interest Policy, the Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, Whistleblowing Policy.
  • Plan, coordinate, and implement ethics, integrity, and internal compliance related communications, briefings, trainings, workshops, and awareness programs for employees.
  • Assist in the development, review and updating of compliance policies and procedures to ensure ongoing relevance and adherence to best practices.
  • Detect, verify, investigate, and manage ethics, integrity, and internal compliance related violations or complaints in accordance with the relevant codes and policies as well as systematically manage information related to such violations and complaints.
  • Support the CIO in providing prompt and quality reporting to Management, the Board Committees, the Board of Directors, and other relevant authorities.
  • Research and recommend best practice procedures, policies, processes, and systems, that relate to ethics, integrity, and internal compliance including compliance with organisational policies, legislation, industrial awards and other relevant requirements aecting individuals or groups of sta to management.
  • Liaise with relevant internal and external stakeholders on matters related to departmental functions, activities, and reporting requirements.
  • Provide a range of project management and support services, including preparation of reports and briefs, coordinating resources, maintaining project documentation and implementing and monitoring project plans, to ensure project outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, to quality standards and within agreed scope, in line with established agency project management methodology.
  • Support internal and external audits related to compliance and ethics, including preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit findings.
  • Analyse compliance data and metrics to identify trends, issues and areas for improvement; prepare detailed reports for senior management.
  • Oversee compliance due diligence for third party vendors, contractors and partners to ensure they adhere to the company’s compliance standards.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent.
  • Preference given to candidates who have additional certification such as CeIO (Certified Integrity Ocer) certification from MACC.
  • At least ten (10) years of working experience in similar role within oil & gas industry or a related sector can be beneficial.
  • Proficiency in compliance management software and tools, as well as familiarity with data privacy regulations and cybersecurity best practices.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication and presentation skills and the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Applicants must be willing to work in Kuching, Sarawak.
  • Meticulous, with strong research, analytical, and writing skills as well as thoroughness in facts examination, research, and approach to issues.
  • Good at planning, scheduling and project management.
  • Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (both written and spoken).
  • Demonstrate a high level of integrity and ethical standards, exercise prudent discretion, maintaining the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism in dealings with potentially challenging stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt to changing regulatory environments and business needs.
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders to achieve compliance objectives.
  • Resourceful with good interpersonal and people management skills; and ability to work with a considerable degree of autonomy.
