Position Overview:
The Senior Analyst, Business Development will provide support in the identification, evaluation and advancement of new growth opportunities for PETROS as well as participate in key commercial activities across our portfolio. This role will provide the opportunity to co-develop commercial strategies, support negotiations or partnerships that drive growth and provide inputs that will shape decision-making at a senior level. You will provide support in assessing opportunities from both a strategic and economic perspective, deal structuring, commercial analysis and stakeholder management, whilst working closely with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor state of the industry (local and international oil and gas market developments including industries relevant to oil & gas) and assess trends and implications to PETROS’ current/future business.
- Manage the identification and assessment of business opportunities, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives, risk appetite and portfolio fit.
- Manage formulation and review of business models and commercial structures as well as perform financial modelling (run financial/cashflow projections)
- Drive collection of inputs and data required for making business development/strategic decisions.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams for business development and strategy planning meetings/exercises to drive opportunity evaluation and decision making.
- Support negotiations and decision-making leading to signing of commercial agreements.
- Maintain database of active opportunities in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead preparations of business presentations and provide support in stakeholder relationship management, ensuring effective communication and engagement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Candidate must possess a Degree (at least upper second class honours or equivalent) in relevant fields (e.g. Finance, Accounting, Business Administration/Studies/Management, Engineering, Information Technology, Mathematics).
- A minimum of 5 years relevant working experience, preferably some familiarity with the Oil and Gas industry across the entire value chain (Upstream to Downstream).
- Willingness to be based in Kuching, Sarawak and travel as required.
- Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical abilities, coupled with the ability to make reasoned judgements based on available information.
- Good business sense, keen eye for opportunities, good intuition and ability to create and demonstrate value.
- Good communication skills and team player, as well as able to maintain an open mindset.
- Builds quality relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, across all levels of management and cross-functional teams, driving a collaborative and long-term partnership environment.
- Possess strong strategic thinking and high level of integrity, as well as influencing and negotiation skills.
