Regulatory & Compliance Lead - Upstream

WHAT IS THE JOB ABOUT?

 

In this role, you will act as a catalyst in coordinating Regulatory Compliance matters for PETROS’ Upstream sector; in delivery business objectives and proactively mitigating compliance risks. The key roles include:

 

  • To monitor and coordinate the implementation of the compliance aspects of the Commercial Settlement Agreements for Upstream business activities.
  • To coordinate and liaise with State's Institutions (such as Sarawak Forestry, Land & Survey Department and Natural Resources and Environment Board) to ensure compliance with the respective regulations and standards for the Upstream activities.
  • To oversee the compliance and assurance aspects of the Upstream activities through upkeep (e.g. regulatory changes) and governance (e.g coaching, monitoring, audit) of the PETROS’ Legal and Regulatory Compliance register.
  • Management of feedbacks (including Lessons Learnt) relating to the SOP, standards and practices through review and to propose framework for amendments.
  • Any other official tasks or duties assigned by the top management from time to time.

 

WHAT SKILLS DO I NEED TO QUALIFY?

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from a recognized institution with good knowledge and understanding on relevant local, State and Federal laws and regulations.
  • At least 10 years of working experience in Oil & Gas industry facilities such as offshore facilities/platforms and onshore O&G plants.
  • Impeccable reputation for trustworthiness, integrity and professional courage.
  • Strong analytical skills in inspecting the facts and documention with the ability to multi-task.
  • Strong team player and ability to lead and focus on the results.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Preferably have experience in managing regulatory frameworks; both with industry participants or with regulatory agencies.
