Position Overview:
This role is responsible for enabling effective project delivery while providing governance, oversight, and assurance across the full capital project lifecycle. The role integrates project services support with structured oversight to ensure projects are well planned, effectively controlled, decision-ready, and aligned with approved business and value objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee project cost, schedule, risk, change management, and progress monitoring to ensure effective project performance and delivery.
- Lead forecasting activities, performance trend analysis, and preparation of the annual Business Plan (BP) as the focal point for project controls coordination.
- Provide end-to-end project lifecycle support from project conceptualisation through to close-out, ensuring smooth coordination across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Ensure projects remain aligned with governance requirements through compliance monitoring, readiness reviews, and risk-based assurance processes.
- Prepare and coordinate management reporting for Senior Management and, where required, the Board of Directors to support informed decision-making and alignment with approved business cases and value objectives.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through the development of tools, templates, lessons learned, coaching, and enhancement of project delivery practices to strengthen organisational project capability and delivery consistency.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum fifteen (15) years of total working experience in capital project delivery, preferably within the Oil & Gas, petrochemical, energy generation, or major infrastructure industries.
- At least five (5) years of experience in project services, project controls, project governance, or related project management functions.
- Demonstrated experience across multiple project lifecycle stages, including concept, define, execute, and project close-out phases.
- Proven experience interfacing with senior management, steering committees, and investment decision-making bodies.
- Proficient in project planning and scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or equivalent, with the ability to review, interpret, and challenge project schedules effectively.
- Strong knowledge of cost estimation, budgeting, and cost control methodologies and tools.
- Sound understanding of capital project lifecycle management, stage gate delivery models, and project governance requirements.
- Advanced knowledge of project controls, including cost management, scheduling, risk management, change control, and progress measurement.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret project performance data, identify trends, and assess potential project risks.
- Demonstrates sound judgement, constructive challenge capability, and confidence in escalating issues and concerns when necessary.
