Position Overview:

 

The Head of Commercial, Mergers & Acquisition is a senior leadership position reporting to the Senior Vice President of Growth responsible for leading the commercial function of the organization, leading the company’s inorganic growth strategy, overseeing the development and implementation of commercial strategies and ensuring that the company's commercial activities are aligned with its overall objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies to drive revenue growth and profitability.
  • Lead the commercial negotiations for major contracts, partnerships, mergers & acquisitions and new/joint ventures.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with non-operated assets and investments.
  • Manage and optimize the organization's pricing strategies and product portfolios maximising value to the organisation.
  • Develop and implement commercial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders to ensure that the organization has access to the best markets and resources.
  • Lead market analysis and research to identify opportunities and risks in the industry.
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of the organization's products, services, and capabilities.
  • Ensure that commercial activities are in compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including anti-bribery and anti-corruption regulations.
  • Develop and manage commercial budgets and forecasts whilst ensuring that the organization's commercial goals are met.
  • Manage, develop and mentor a team of commercial professionals and provide guidance and leadership to ensure that they are meeting their objectives.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • A minimum of 15 years relevant working experience in commercial roles within mergers & acquisition, corporate development, or business development, preferably within the oil & gas industry.
  • Willingness to be based in Kuching, Sarawak.
  • Track record in negotiating and structuring complex agreements and transactions as well as managing key counterparties.  
  • Possess excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence and collaborate with senior leaders across the organization.
  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative analytical abilities, coupled with the ability to make reasoned judgements based on available information.
