Position Overview:
The role is responsible for providing cost estimating and project planning support for Front End Development (FED) activities, ensuring the development of reliable cost estimates and project schedules throughout the project maturation process. The incumbent will support opportunity framing, project evaluation, and decision-making by delivering timely and accurate cost and planning inputs, contributing to the successful progression of projects through internal stage-gate approvals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Organize and facilitate Project Opportunity Framing (OF) workshops to define project objectives, scope, value drivers, risks, and stakeholder alignment.
- Develop high-level project schedules in support of early-phase project planning (FEL1/FEL2), identifying critical milestones and interdependencies.
- Prepare and maintain Class 5 and Class 4 cost estimates in alignment with project stage requirements and corporate estimating practices.
- Provide input into business case development, investment proposals, and internal gate reviews to support project funding and approvals.
- Support cost and schedule risk assessments, sensitivity analyses, and benchmarking against historical projects or industry norms
- Ensure alignment with corporate project development procedures, value assurance processes, and technical standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of cost estimating and planning tools, templates, and knowledge databases.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Professional certifications such as AACE (CCP, PSP) or Project Management Professional (PMP) will be considered an advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience in project planning, scheduling, cost engineering, or project controls within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Demonstrated understanding of project development lifecycle, particularly within EPC and Oil & Gas projects.
- Proficiency in project planning and cost management tools, including Primavera P6, MS Project, Que$tor, or other equivalent software.
- Strong facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and engage stakeholders at various organisational levels.
