Position Overview:

 

The Front-End Engineer is responsible for delivering feasibility and concept studies for CCUS business opportunities through Company business development funnel. This includes developing early execution planning, opportunity framing, Feasibility and Concept Select and Front-End Engineering Design (FEED). This includes facilities sizing and configuration, cost estimation & economics, execution schedules, contracting strategies and risks/opportunities assessment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and manage work plans, schedules, and project initiation requirements for identified business opportunities to support effective front-end execution and realistic target setting.
  • Organise and coordinate opportunity framing workshops, decision gate reviews, and value assurance activities involving key stakeholders throughout the project development stages.
  • Lead and coordinate engineering studies including feasibility and concept selection studies, either in-house or through external engineering service providers.
  • Prepare and manage key technical and project deliverables including Basis of Design (BoD), engineering studies, cost and schedule estimates, economics assessments, HSE risk studies, and operational philosophies.
  • Manage third-party consultants and specialist studies while working closely with project, cost, and planning teams to ensure smooth execution of front-end activities.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited university or technical institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience, preferably as a Front-End Engineer within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Strong understanding of capital project development processes, including FEL stages and Project Opportunity Realisation / ORP.
  • Knowledge of project economics, schedule development, and risk assessment.
  • Working knowledge of cost estimation tools (e.g. Que$tor or equivalent) and scheduling tools (e.g. Primavera P6, Microsoft Project or equivalent).
  • Understanding of multidisciplinary engineering interfaces and project delivery lifecycle (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations readiness).
  • Basic knowledge of project management principles and LEAN methodology.
  • Experience in FEL-based project development, including concept development and cost/schedule/risk support.
  • Exposure to CCUS or other energy transition projects is an added advantage.
