Position Overview:

This role provides cost and planning leadership for front-end development activities, including project opportunity framing, high-level cost estimating, schedule development, and risk/benchmarking analysis. The role also ensures robust cost/schedule inputs for business cases, internal gate reviews, and investment decisions, supporting the maturation of oil & gas projects through corporate project development stages.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead project opportunity framing workshops to align scope, risks, and value drivers.
  • Develop front-end schedules (FEL1/FEL2) with clear milestones and dependencies.
  • Prepare and maintain Class 5 & 4 estimates, advancing to Class 3 during FEED.
  • Provide input into business cases, investment proposals, and internal decision gates.
  • Conduct risk and benchmarking analyses against historical data and industry peers.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate governance and value assurance standards.
  • Drive continuous improvement of estimating/planning tools and databases.
  • Collaborate across engineering, commercial, and external contractor teams.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in major engineering field (Mechanical, Civil, Petroleum, or equivalent) from accredited universities.
  • Minimum 5 years of project planning and cost control experience with exposure to oil & gas sector (preferably FEED & EPC).
  • Skilled in Primavera P6, MS Project, and estimating software (Que$tor, Cleopatra, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of project lifecycles (FEL1–3, EPC) and estimating practices (Class 5–3).
  • Professional certifications (AACE, PMP) and familiarity with probabilistic analysis, risk management, and benchmarking practices are an advantage.
