Position Overview
The primary objective of this role is to provide comprehensive financial oversight and analytical support for Group Finance operations. This involves detailed cost tracking, budgeting, and reporting to ensure financial transparency. By collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, the Finance Analyst delivers actionable insights that contribute to strategic decision-making and the overall financial health of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage monthly, quarterly and year-end financial closing activities, including the preparation of management reports, financial schedules and variance analysis.
- Analyse financial performance, identify key cost drivers and provide meaningful insights and recommendations to support management decision-making.
- Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecast exercises by coordinating inputs from various business units.
- Improve cost visibility by preparing detailed budget analyses and expenditure breakdowns to facilitate financial planning and business decisions.
- Monitor budget utilisation and highlight significant variances, risks and opportunities to management.
- Serve as the key liaison for internal and external audits by coordinating audit requests and preparing supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards (MFRS/IFRS), statutory requirements and internal policies.
- Assist in the implementation and continuous improvement of finance processes and internal controls.
- Prepare tax computations, annual tax returns, tax estimates and ensure timely submission of e-Invoices.
- Support the preparation and filing of corporate income tax returns in compliance with statutory requirements and deadlines.
- Prepare and ensure timely computation, reporting and remittance of indirect taxes, including Withholding Tax, Sales and Service Tax (SST), Import Service Tax (IST) and Digital Service Tax (DST), where applicable.
- Liaise with tax authorities and external tax consultants on tax-related matters, audits and enquiries.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline, and having professional qualifications (ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in financial reporting, management reporting, budgeting or audit.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial analysis and Malaysian tax regulations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP experience is an advantage).
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills with attention to detail.
