Position Overview
The primary objective of this role is to provide comprehensive financial oversight and analytical support for upstream operations. This involves detailed cost tracking, budgeting, and reporting to ensure financial transparency. By collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders, the Finance Analyst delivers actionable insights that contribute to strategic decision-making and the overall financial health of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to Non Operated Venture (NOV) upstream operations by reviewing work program and budget submissions, analyzing JV cost performance, validating partner billings, and ensuring alignment with PSC and JOA terms, while collaborating with stakeholders to support decision-making and uphold financial governance in a non-operating partner capacity.
- Support financial processes related to Production Sharing Contracts (PSCs), joint ventures, and regulatory compliance by assisting in cost recovery validation and ensure adherence to JOA and PSC terms. Contribute to stakeholder coordination, review JIB and QAA cost and activities.
- Provide support in the planning and execution of joint venture audits by assisting with basic tasks such as gathering documentation, organizing files, and coordinating meeting schedules. Help track responses to audit queries, support communication with internal teams and JV partners, and assist in compiling information for audit reports under close supervision.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders—including technical teams, auditors, and JV partners—to ensure transparent financial communication and alignment on key initiatives.
- Support certain management and financial reporting requirement related to business, finance process improvements by assisting in ERP system enhancements (e.g., SAP modules), strengthening internal controls, and promoting automation to streamline accounting workflows, improve reporting accuracy, and drive operational excellence.
- Identify and support cost-saving initiatives, improve capital allocation, and optimize financial workflows to enhance economic returns and long-term value from upstream assets.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with relevant professional qualification (e.g. ACCA, CPA, CA).
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in the accounting field. Prior experience in the upstream oil and gas industry are highly preferred.
- Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, and experience using SAP accounting software is an added advantage.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with various levels of management and external partners.
- High level of accuracy in financial reporting and data analysis.
