Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced System Administrator (Cloud) to join our dynamic IT team. As a System Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our organization's cloud infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the day-to-day operations, monitoring cloud resources, and ensuring the reliability and security of our cloud-based systems. This role is vital in supporting our business's digital transformation efforts and ensuring a seamless, scalable, and cost-effective cloud environment that is aligned to cloud first technology and other business-enabling ICT solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provision, configure, and maintain cloud resources on platforms primarily on Microsoft 365 suite of applications, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Azure Active Directory, Azure, Endpoint Management, SAP SaaS and to ensure all services are running according to SLA.
- Implement and optimize virtual machines, storage, and networking components.
- Monitor resource usage, scalability, and performance to ensure optimal cloud operations.
- Implement and maintain security best practices and compliance standards within the cloud environment.
- Manage user access controls and permissions to ensure data security.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
- To handle IT requests, incidents, problems, changes by providing technical expertise to support IT infrastructure and endpoint devices in accordance with ITSM processes and ensure all cases are acted upon according to SLA.
- Continuously monitor system performance and optimize cloud resources to ensure cost-efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues as they arise.
- Set up and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies for critical data and applications in the cloud.
- Test and execute recovery plans to ensure business continuity.
- Create and maintain documentation of cloud infrastructure, configurations, and procedures.
- Generate reports on resource utilization, costs, and performance metrics.
- Coordinate the implementation of change tasks, requests, and documentations.
- To manage procurement and contract management of hardware and software licenses.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network team, cybersecurity team developers and external parties, to ensure smooth operations, provide technical support and to resolve infrastructure incidents and issues whilst managing stakeholder expectations.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, ICT Technology or equivalent.
- Hands-on technical experience with a minimum of 5 years of maintaining & supporting IT infrastructure services.
- Experience in managing infrastructure and/or cloud services is essential.
- Strong domain knowledge in Microsoft Cloud technologies. Solid foundation on Microsoft Azure fundamentals is an added advantage. Microsoft Certified Professional or relevant certification preferably.
- Strong analytical skills with a desire to improve solutions, systems, and processes and capable of enforcing processes and procedures.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is essential. Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in the oil & gas or energy sector is preferable.
