Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Subsurface Project Development Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide upstream project management technical expertise to support Subsurface & Development and Growth (including New Business Development and Merger &Acquisition) in line with the PETROS Project Maturation Process. The incumbent will lead upstream hydrocarbon maturation (HCM) projects—primarily in the pre-FID stage—covering exploration, appraisal, and field development planning. The scope includes complex upstream developments involving difficult hydrocarbons, contaminated gas, CCS, and potential EOR applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise / steer the maturation within the mandate set by PETROS’ project governance framework.
- Close collaborate is required with the Growth Team, Engineering Team and Project Team and Corporate Strategy.
- Project delivery and team management including:
- HSE & Security Compliance: Lead project team in complying with appropriate HSE & security policies and procedures. Responsible for incorporating appropriate standards and activities within the project.
- All aspects of project delivery including technical, cost and schedule, risk management meeting top quartile targets.
- Stakeholder management.
- Generating a project plan, identifying appropriate skills to execute the project plan, monitoring resource and budget levels and ensuring proper discipline integration and technical integrity of deliverables.
- Lead day-to-day operations of an interdisciplinary project team, including framing, Opportunity Realisation Process compliance, regular project reporting, technology mapping and digital interfaces.
- Defining resource needs (activities, duration, external resources needs).
- Developing and executing an appropriate technical assurance plan for the project (VAR, HAZID etc).
Qualifications & Experience:
- Solid experience (12+ years) including leadership in pre-FID project delivery.
- Relevant experience in the formulation, construction and execution of field development plans and participation in field studies.
- Appreciation of the impact of field studies on field development and business decisions as well as previous leadership / co-ordination experience.
- Relevant experience in formulating the front-end engineering deliverables; concept select and Basis for design.
- Relevant experience in the execution phase of opportunities is also advantageous.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Candidate must be self-motivated and willing to work within a team.
- Projects will mainly be within Sarawak, but also within the region, and also in Non Operated Ventures (NOV).
- The main location will be Kuching.
