Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Geoscientist to join our Subsurface & Development team. The ideal candidate will conduct comprehensive geological studies, including geological operations, mapping, prospect maturation, volumetric assessments, and geological risk evaluations for exploration activities. Additionally, the role involves performing static modeling, uncertainty assessments, and volumetric evaluations to identify and mature development opportunities through structured development funnels. This role is integral to our continued growth and success, offering an opportunity to contribute to support exploration and development strategies through detailed geological analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct regional prospectivity and Near-field exploration studies. Identify and mature leads /prospects and perform prospect evaluations including volumetric and risk assessment.
- Carry out Data Room evaluation, due diligence and Block screening. Make forward plan and recommendation on farm-in potential.
- Take a lead role in the identification, justification and planning of field development opportunities.
- Provide geological and geophysical support to NOV assets.
- Conduct static modelling for green- and brownfield with integration with dynamic data. Work closely with Reservoir Engineers to update and improve reservoir understanding.
- Perform 2D/3D seismic-well tie, seismic interpretation, velocity modelling, time-depth conversion, structural mapping and seismic attributes studies.
- Monitor well operations, well logs correlation and interpretations.
- Drive continuos improvement initiatives for discipline health and process optimization.
- Coach and develop junior geoscientists in the team.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree Geology, Geophysics or related field from a recognized institution.
- At least 10 years of relevant Petroleum Geoscience working experience. Knowledge and experience in static modelling and formation evaluation is an advantage.
- Possess knowledge and experience in exploration and development geoscience methods with a proven track record of successful projects.
- Proficiency in geological software applications (PETREL, GeoX, Techlog etc) and sound understanding of model building workflows.
- Experience in well planning and operations.
- Good communication and presentation skills.
- Candidate must be self-motivated and willing to work in a team.
- Candidate must be ready and willing to relocate to Kuching.
