WHAT IS MY OBJECTIVE?

 

The be accountable for all stages of seismic survey operations, including market survey, planning, tendering, execution, and monitoring, involving coordination with internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, managing seismic processing projects, both new and reprocessing, for both company-owned and joint-venture partner projects. Furthermore, conducting seismic interpretation studies to inform internal views for joint-venture partner technical engagements and Technical Committee Meetings is part of the responsibilities.

 

 

WHAT IS THE JOB ABOUT?

 

  • Execute and oversee Seismic Acquisition Operations and Seismic Processing with proficiency and hands-on experience.
  • Initiate and conduct various Geophysical Surveys, expanding beyond seismic methods.
  • Evaluate geophysical survey methods for their suitability, potential, limitations, and edge-effects.
  • Select appropriate types and sizes of geophysical surveys, providing preliminary time and budget estimates while identifying key business and HSE risks.
  • Develop seismic, gravity, magnetic, and FTG data acquisition plans.
  • Recommend suitable geophysical data-processing methods and techniques.
  • Manage Seismic Processing Projects, ensuring the integrity and applicability of processing parameters through meticulous inspection at each stage.
  • Conduct Seismic test processing as required.
  • Perform 2D/3D seismic to well tie.
  • Collect and analyze earth surface data from acoustic readings, surveys, and satellites.
  • Produce scientific papers and reports based on data analysis.
  • Offer advisory, liaison, and consultation services to colleagues, clients, consultants, researchers, external bodies, and professionals.

 

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO QUALIFY?

 

  • Minimum of 12-15 years (or more) of relevant experience in seismic acquisition/operation and seismic processing, preferably within the oil & gas industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in seismic survey planning, seismic operations, and advanced seismic processing skills.
  • Stay updated with the latest technologies in seismic acquisition and seismic processing.
  • Experience in Quality Interpretation (QI) & Seismic Interpretation (SI) is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Prepared and willing to expand geophysics knowledge to learn QI & SI when required.
  • Bachelor's degree in science, Applied Science, or Engineering from a recognized institution; a master's degree or higher in a relevant subject is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of exploration and development geoscience methods is required.
  • Proficiency in geoscience software applications such as PETREL, ArcGIS, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Self-motivated individual with a strong team-oriented mindset.
  • Willingness to relocate to Sarawak.
