Position Overview:

 

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to lead the technical execution and coordination of a Hydrogen Plant project. This plant will supply renewable hydrogen fuel for Automated Rapid Transit (ART) vehicles and public transit buses, supporting a shift toward sustainable, low-emission public transportation.The successful candidate will be responsible for managing engineering tasks, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, overseeing construction and commissioning, and ensuring project delivery within scope, timeline, budget, and safety/environmental standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Support the planning, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the green hydrogen production facility.
  • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, electrical, and process engineering teams.
  • Liaise with external contractors, OEMs, technology providers, and regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure integration of electrolysis, storage, compression, and dispensing systems aligned with the fuelling requirements for ART and bus fleets.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate technologies for hydrogen production
  • Review and approve engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications.
  • Act as a key point of contact between engineering, construction, permitting, and operations teams.
  • Support permitting processes and compliance with environmental, safety, and utility regulations.
  • Manage change orders, risk assessments, and quality assurance processes.
  • Track and report on project timelines, milestones, and budgets.
  • Collaborate with procurement and finance teams to monitor capital expenditures and vendor contracts.
  • Oversee plant commissioning, performance testing, and operational readiness.
  • Facilitate training programs for operations and maintenance personnel.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering; Master’s preferred.
  • 5–8 years of project engineering experience, ideally in hydrogen, energy, or industrial process plants.
  • Proven track record of delivering infrastructure projects, preferably involving green hydrogen or renewable energy systems.
  • Familiarity with hydrogen production (electrolysis), storage, compression, and fueling infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and regulations (e.g., NFPA 2, ISO 19880 series, ASME, API).
  • Proficiency in engineering tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, MS Project, or similar).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Stakeholder engagement and team collaboration skills.
