WHAT IS MY OBJECTIVE?

 

Provide petroleum engineering (PE) expertise to PETROS to support deal acquisition, manage Non-Operated Ventures (NOV), and serve as an onshore regulator. Support the achievement of production and recovery targets from mature fields through rigorous reservoir and well surveillance, intervention planning, and the deployment of petroleum engineering-related technology. Additionally, contribute to the development of local enterprises.

 

 

WHAT IS THE JOB ABOUT?

 

 

  • Provide PE expertise and balance to a multi-disciplinary Upstream team.

  • Ensure technical quality of PE inputs and deliverables from NOV operator; including calibration of well inflow and outflow models for planning new wells, production enhancement and surveillance activities on existing wells (example saturation logging, production-logging tools (PLTs), caliper logs, well stimulations); field development plan and re-development; and exploration recommendations.

  • Conduct dynamic modeling studies to evaluate the reservoir characteristics of oil and gas exploration, appraisal and development opportunities. 

  • Deliver area development plan and field development plan. Evaluate field development concepts and resource potential in order to maximize asset value.

  • Participate in Field Reviews, Technical Excellence and Project Independent Reviews (e.g., PIRs) and Petronas milestone and operating reviews (Asset Management Integrated Review (AMiR)  and Milestone Reviews (MR 1-4), Abandonment Review (AR) and Integrated Well and Reservoir review (IW/RR)) from NOV. 

  • Update gas and oil production/sales forecasts to support economic evaluation as needed. 

  • Responsible for annual Petronas ARPR reserves submission and annual WP&B production forecasts.

  • Support effective staff coaching, motivation, development, training of junior staff. 

  • Establish good working relationships and strong network with stakeholders as well as internal process owners.

  • Ability to bring new ideas to the team, to keep abreast of developments in the Petroleum Engineering community and digital innovation in Petroleum Engineering. 

 

 

WHAT DO I NEED TO QUALIFY?

 

 

  • Demonstrate a broad experience and commitment to Health, Safety, Security, & Environment (HSSE) and Sustainable Development (SD) principles. Possess a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent.
  • Has at least 8 years of Reservoir Engineering experience, contribute to the Field Development Planning process and ensure asset technical assurance in a Production Sharing Contract (PSC)/Joint Venture (JV) environment. Experience in subsurface operations, including surface modeling and carbonate reservoirs, is preferred.
  • Previous involvement in exploration, producing assets, implementing Well, Reservoir and Facilities Management (WRFM) plans, operational drilling support, and well and reservoir integrity and lifecycle management is advantageous. Willingness to travel to asset/business locations as needed.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and networking skills. Adaptability to the dynamic environment and a willingness to embrace new ways of working are essential.
