Position Overview:

You will be part of a dynamic environment designed to foster both your functional training and personal development. In this role, you will gain a strong foundation in key areas of Malaysian Taxation, including Petroleum Income Tax (PITA), Corporate Income Tax (CITA), Malaysian Indirect Tax, Transfer Pricing, Withholding Tax, and Sarawak State Sales Tax (SaST).

As you progress, you will build confidence in addressing complex tax-related challenges, particularly within the Oil & Gas, and energy sectors. Throughout this journey, you will receive mentorship from experienced tax managers with extensive industry expertise, attend tax training and workshop sessions led by external tax experts—ensuring you enhance your technical skills and guide you toward success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Tax Compliance and Reporting: Participate in various phases of tax compliance engagements. Work closely with the tax manager to manage tax filing deadlines, including providing necessary documentation and support, liaising with external tax agents, and ensuring that relevant tax returns are filed on time.
  • Tax Advisory: Collaborate with departments such as finance, commercial, legal, and operations to address tax-related matters, integrating tax considerations into business operations and decision-making processes.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research and stay up-to-date with changes in tax laws and trends to ensure accuracy and compliance.

 

  • Tax Audit and Controversial Case Management: Assist the tax manager in managing tax audit timelines, providing documentation and support, and liaising with external auditors/authorities to ensure proper case management and positive outcomes.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree or Professional Certificate, Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
  • Fresh graduate or at the maximum of 3 years of working experience in the related field.
  • Applicants must be willing to work in Kuching, Sarawak.
  • Able to handle daily tasks with Microsoft Office.
  • Good analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a keen attention to details.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to tax manager and non-tax professionals.
  • Teamwork and ability to work independently in managing timeline.
